Paintings are visual ideas. "AP-7thgen" is part of the Alien Panther series. I often have created new art canvases by reference a previous painting. A spring-board jump-off point.

I did reference the original AP [Alien Panther] when creating this artwork.
Alien Panther (the original one) was a pivotal icebreaking moment way back in 1991. After watching a rented video of Pablo Picasso doing a painting demonstration of flowing with the paint; I was inspired. I took that virtual lesson and ran with it. Watching paint flow from the masters hand gave me inspiration and direction. A turning point.

Many years later.. around 2016 ..(?) I did a new painting referencing the original. But now I wanted to take it to the next level using digital. Continuing the concept building process by taking a (RAW) format photo of the painting then drawing and painting with a digital pen. It was still a fresh experience for me. Using the 'clone' brush tool was lots of fun here.
