| The artwork above is a section from a painting I did many years ago, but was not sure How I had done it. I stretched a long narrow canvas for a pallet to mix my paints on before going to another huge canvas. But as I was blending paints on this smaller canvas, pallet, it became more interesting than the big one. After about 45 minutes, I sat it up straight for a good look at my pallet canvas. Amazed and shocked at what I saw... A thoughtful composition of layered images ; which must have come about subconsciously .. somehow. At first, I had the desire to add clarity and keep painting on it. But decided not to. As I kept looking at the painting over time it crystalized more and more. Layers of content. But how had this happened? Not the first time, ..by far, that such layers of images had emerged spontaneously without consciously trying. But an entire painting 20"x48"in? That was in 2010. In 2021 the mystery finally started to happen again. In 2023 even more profoundly. It appears, there are incubation periods. I'm in one of those now. | ||

Painting, photography and digital art belong together.Photography allows me to isolate snippets from my real world paintings. Isolated snips often can stand alone as interesting art. The digital process allows multiple more effects and directions I can take these images. I've spent several years exploring the use of digital process to take my Real World Painting to the next level. Resulting in a couple hundred digital art images. Photographs of my recent works, like these above, promise to provide an vast amount of interesting Surreal Expressionistic art content. Content which can be expanded upon by others.
